Seeds: Discipleship at Bethel Community

Seeds is our way to invest in some of the key stories that shape us and how we live and move in the world. Our goal is for people to know the goodness of God, the complexity with which we engage God, and God’s invitation to be witnesses in our neighborhoods.

In 2021, our discipleship and spiritual formation will take place in two midweek gatherings:

PRAYER GATHERINGS

As a faith community seeking to be centered around Jesus, we are committed to gathering together to make space for God’s revelation to us as we bring ourselves fully and vulnerably to God. Our prayer gatherings are spaces to learn what it means to pray, to pray in community, and to be encouraged to pray in our daily lives as an act of resistance and renewal.

Currently, our prayer gatherings are Tuesday nights. They are open to anyone, at any time. For more information, contact Pastor Erina.

SCRIPTURE ENGAGEMENT

We believe that the Bible, the Holy Scriptures, are the story of God for the community of creation. As a church, we seek for this incredible story to shape us, encourage us, challenge us, and disturb us as we engage it in the guidance of the Holy Spirit.

Starting February 28, 2021, we will take a few months to take a deeper look at Jesus’ first extended remarks in his ministry, commonly knows as the Sermon on the Mount. What was Jesus saying to this crowd that gathered to hear Jesus? What did it mean to them? What does it mean to us?

ATTENDANCE: For the first few weeks, this group is open to anyone, at any time. However, as the group moves along we are hoping for some consistency in the group, so it will close to new attendees after the first 4-5 weeks. All information will be available in our weekly email newsletter (signups are below).

We hope you will join us as we seek to make space for God to teach us what it means to be God’s people in this time, in this place. If you have any questions, please contact Pastor Erina.
