Online Formation Groups

Formation groups are seasonally based small groups run on Zoom, which bring people together for intentional theological exploration, spiritual formation, or collective praxis. They typically run for a set number of weeks, depending on the season of the Church calendar we are in and including book clubs, prayer practice groups, Bible studies, and theological discussion spaces.

Our church is offering a couple of Lenten formation groups for the season:

  • Sabbath Economics (Tuesdays @ 8pm on Zoom)
Join Pastor Erina for an Eastertide exploration of Sabbath economics for households, piloting curriculum from the Sabbath Economics Collaborative and exploring further use of the curriculum in our community.

This group will run on Zoom every Tuesday, from 8-930pm, starting on April 14th and ending on June 2nd.  Topics will include our money stories, surplus capital, debt, giving, green living, consumption and simplicity, solidarity, and Sabbath.

Participation in this group will include weekly reading and "homework" that involves reflecting on specific money practices. For group consistency, regular attendance is highly recommended for this group.

  • Eastertide Bibliodrama (Thursdays @ 8pm on Zoom)
Join Pastor Michael on Thursday nights from 8-930pm on Zoom for a 6-week experience of Bibliodrama during the Eastertide season. Bibliodrama is a collective, decolonizing, Scripture practice that uses storytelling, bodywork, and breathwork to help create both a window into the Biblical world while creating a mirror for our own identities and healing journeys.

You do not need to have previous experience with Bibliodrama to join this group, but must be willing to engage in the communal practices if you'd like to participate.

This group begins on April 16th and ends on May 21st.  Regular attendance is requested.
